Important USPS Mailing / Postmark Info
(Please read carefully)
According to updated USPS guidelines, not all mail is automatically postmarked. Whether your mail gets a postmark depends on the type of postage used.
If you want to guarantee your application is clearly postmarked on the date you mail it, you have a few reliable options:
-
Bring your application to a USPS retail counter and request a same-day “hand-cancel” / manual postmark — that is, ask the clerk to stamp the envelope by hand rather than drop it in a mail-box or leave it in a batch.
-
Use Certified Mail (or Registered Mail) — this provides a dated receipt stamped by USPS when you drop it off, which can act as proof of mailing date.
-
Mail early — because of possible processing delays and depending on when your mail is collected or processed, relying on just dropping it in a mailbox close to the deadline could be risky.
By using one of these methods, you reduce the risk that processing delays or type of postage cause your application to be considered “postmarked after deadline.”

FAIREST OF THE FAIR SCHOLARSHIP
In 2011, the Ozaukee County Fair Board established a Scholarship Fund for the Fairest of the Fair. Every year since, we have presented scholarships to the top three candidates in the competition.
We are continuing our efforts to encourage young people in Ozaukee County to participate in the program. Please consider donating to the Scholarship Fund or the program. We will recognize your contribution at the Fairest of the Fair Gala (January 11, 2025) and on this website. Please click on the links below for more information.
